Steven Wijangco

GENERAL MANAGER – NABA GROUP

Straight out of high school in 2003, Steven Wijangco started to pursue a career as a plumbing apprentice. Two years into his apprenticeship, he left plumbing to pursue a professional boxing career.

In 2007, Steven turned professional and commenced a Graduate Traineeship at Stramit Building Products, whilst studying in Competitive Lean Manufacturing & Business Management.

After working 7 years as a Sales Representative at Stramit, Steven changed professions and became the Production Manager at Force 10 Global implementing project improvements. One of the Steve’s key projects included time spent in Nauru, Micronesia, standardising the logistics of delivering goods and the management of equipment for Asylum Seeker Accommodation built by Force 10 sister company Canstruct.

Steven’s potential was quickly recognised and was promoted to International Business Development Manager, looking after PNG, New Zealand, and the Australian market.

In 2016, Steven joined the NABA Group of companies as the National Sales and Marketing Manager.

Steven is still heavily involved in the Brisbane and Australian Boxing scene, and has been holding boxing promotions since 2012. Steven has hosted several corporate and charity boxing events involving renowned Brisbane lawyers, business owners and IT professionals, as well as Australian, State of Origin and Brisbane Bronco’s Superstars, Sam Thaiday and Josh McGuire to raise money for organisations such as Beyond Blue.

Highlights of Steven’s boxing career include, winning the 2011 Foxtel Round of the Year, in a 6-round war at the Greek Club; being a sparring partner for Australian Professional Boxer and former World Champion, Anthony Mundine; and looking after former WBC World Champion and British Professional Boxer, Ricky Hatton during his first visit to Brisbane.
